Saturday May 23, 2015. The fishing season opened this morning in Yellowstone National Park and also the general season in the state of Idaho. The Fishing opened last Saturday in Montana so now everything is open for the 2015 fishing season in this Yellowstone area.
I have received good reports from the Firehole River in Yellowstone this afternoon. The best flies were small bead headed soft hackles and my emerging white Miller caddis fly. I had my first guide trip two day’s ago marking my 46 year of guiding fisherman in this wonderful Yellowstone area. My fisherman caught several nice 17 to 20 inch Rainbows and one 20″ Brown Trout.
I am looking forward to some good fishing myself if I can get away this week one evening or morning.
all of my best to you all!
